All donor information managed by the Lubbock Area United Way is confidential. United Way does not distribute, sell or rent lists of donors or their contact information to any outside entity. United Way may send thank you notes to donors using their contact information. All donor information is maintained in a secure database.
If a gift is made in honor or in memory of someone, the donor(s) information name and address will be sent to the honoree or the family of the deceased person as a courtesy, if the information is available. The actual gift amount is not included in the letter to the honoree.
If a website visitor requests the electronic newsletter, that individual’s name and addresses will be added to our donor database. Each electronic communication contains an opt-out option if someone no longer decides to receive the newsletter.
Many United Way givers are contacted during the annual campaign by volunteers who are trained in the confidentiality policies of the organization. The name, contact information and giving history of a donor may be given to a volunteer for future solicitation.
The Lubbock Area United Way publishes a Leadership Giving registry listing all those who give $1,000 or more each year. Prior to publication, a letter goes to all donors advising them of the publication and offering the opportunity to be listed anonymously.
Donor records are maintained in a secure environment. United Way does not receive or store credit card data through this online giving system.
