Description: As a non-profit organization, CASA of the South Plains advocates for abused and neglected children in the court system.
Responsibilities of CASA volunteers:
» work alongside attorneys and social workers as appointed officers of the court
» take time to find out as much as possible about the child
» review records, interview parents, talk to teachers
» most important, get to know the child
You can become a CASA volunteer if you:
» are 21 years of age or older
» Can pass a criminal and CPS background check
» are a mature, responsible adult
» can talk to people who are having problems
» have the time to commit
» care about children
