United Way Volunteer Opportunities

Lubbock Area United Way is a non-profit group that is driven under the direction of community volunteers.  The volunteer options listed below are opportunities within the organization.     

STANDING COMMITTEES
Stewardship Review - Evaluates the financial information of each of United Way's partner agencies to determine if they are financially sound

Program Review and Funding - Meets with each of United Way's partner agencies, evaluates program effectiveness, determines whether the needs of clients are being met

Finance Committee - Conducts an on-going review of revenue, expenses, assets, receivables, liabilities and funds

Planned Giving and Endowment - Oversees the cultivation and solicitation of major and deferred gifts

Marketing/Communications - Develops and maintains community awareness through a marketing plan and year-round communication with donors, volunteers, media and the general public

FUND-RAISING

Annual Campaign - Volunteers call on businesses and individuals to solicit contributions

Speakers' Bureau - Receive training, then speak on behalf of the United Way to employee and civic groups
