
Latest HeadlinesWhat We Do In The Lubbock AreaDiabetes ForumAccording to the American Diabetes Association, it is estimated that 24,500 people in Lubbock County have diabetes.Lubbock Area United Way hosted a Forum on Diabetes on June 3, 2010. Representatives from health providers, insurance, business, hospitals, and universities participated in a lunch meeting. The agenda included local facts and best practices. Gaps and obstacles in services and education were highlighted. The Forum concluded with ideas for the future and plans for networking the various groups involved with Diabetes in our area. Work will continue to address this issue, watch for more information here.
